Surf Session
Engagement shoot // Margarida and André are two wild souls that find themselves near the ocean. They are in love with each other and they are in love with the sea. When we were talking for the first time we immediately understood this, and everything changed for some reason.
Between some calls and some beers, we wanted to create something unique for them, something that could show what they’re all about. What came to our minds was to be able to somehow shoot a surf session with them.
We had some friends in common since they usually spend holidays in the same beach Isabel goes since she was a kid. And from that point everything was easier for us to hang out with them and to make this happen.
So the plan was settled. They were on holidays and were going to spend some days in the southern part of Portugal – a place called Costa Vincentina – known for its sun and great waves, and we were going to meet them there and spend a few days around, having some fun in the water. It wasn’t our first time in that area but we are always amazed by the coast and shorelines we have in our little country.
Miguel Matos came by our house really early in the morning, we packed everything in his car (waterproof bags for our cameras included) and we drove all the way from Coimbra to the southern part of Portugal where we were going to meet Margarida and André. A 4 or 5 hour drive went by so fast because we were so stoked about this surf session.
We found a really nice AirBnb for the 3 of us to be near André and Margarida and after leaving the luggage at home we went straight to the beach to hang out with them. Since we were to spend some days in that area we had some time to just relax and enjoy the good weather, while having fun doing what we love to do.
Everything from the sound that the waves make to the smell of the ocean has inspired us to create this poetic video. But hanging out with them was unique and we understood what it means to be free and in love.
Hit the Road – and leave your comfort zone behind. Step aboard a four-wheeled home that allows you the freedom to stay wherever you want, whenever you want, and however you want. Watch the passing landscapes, follow the desire to see what is just over the horizon line, and escape from modern monotony. Heck, just run away from your mundane life. This is a video about adventure, this a story about life.
This is more than just an engagement shoot or a surf session. We were inspired by a poem of Charles Bukowski about life:
